FFL TRANSFERS
-We are a FFL holder and can do gun transfers for guns bought online and received from other sources. FFLs are the only agents authorized to transfer ownership of a firearm from one person to another. If you are buying a weapon from a brick and mortar gun store, then someone there holds a Federal Firearms License and is transferring ownership of that firearm from the store’s stock to you. If you buy online, whether its a store or an auction, an FFL there is transferring that gun from their stock to the FFL you chose to pick it up from. When received by that FFL, it is added to his/her stock and then it is transferred to you after completing the paperwork and passing the background check. This process provides traceability for these firearms, so we know where they all are and that the right people have them.
For firearms being sold by private citizens, using an FFL for the transfer is always required by law if the firearm is coming from a person living in a different state. This is true even if a family member in another state wants to give a gun to another family member. In these cases, 2 FFLs need to be used. The gun needs to be brought to an FFL in the state of the giver, that FFL will then ship it to an FFL in the receiver’s state, and that person will issue the firearm to its new owner after doing the paperwork. The ATF takes this issue very seriously, as no state wants thousands of guns coming into their backyard without knowing about them. If you are caught shipping a gun to someone living in another state yourself, you will likely receive a personal visit from the FBI and may be charged as gun trafficker. How can they catch you? Well, all I can tell you is since starting GKPRO, almost every time the UPS or FedEx guy has handed me or my wife a sealed package with a gun inside he has said, “I think this is a gun..” I am guessing that when you handle packages for an extended period of time, you get to know by size and weight what might be inside.
While buying or receiving a gun from a private individual living in the state of Wisconsin does not require a transfer or background check by law, you may want to opt to have an FFL to do the transfer paperwork anyway. As the seller or giver, do you really want whatever the new owner of that firearm may do with it coming back on you? Are you really willing to take that risk to save a few bucks?
FFL to FFL, every time. Good advice. Read the post in the right sidebar of this site for more information. >>>

GUN CLEANING TRAINING AND FAMILIARIZATION:
We have noticed there are a lot of new gun owners out there. People who have never even considered owning a firearm before are now purchasing guns. This is not surprising considering what’s been going on in our country lately. People are scared and they simply want to protect themselves. Many of these new owners have no idea how to hold, handle or take care their new firearms. They know they wanted one, but have had no exposure to them up to now. At GKPRO, we will not only clean the gun, but take the time to show you how to clean it, too. We will offer a judgement-free, one on one environment for beginners where we will show you basic gun safety tips, what happens when you pull the trigger, what to watch for, and other tips. Please note, we are not offering a accredited gun safety course- we are not certified for that- just a basic getting-to-know the firearm type of service. We’ve had customers say they want that before taking an accredited firearm safety course so they are less intimidated when they do go to the class. We charge $30 for the first hour and $15 for each additional hour for this service.
Call us to set appointment if you are interested in these services.
